Serpens was a 3U CubeSat from the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB), deployed into orbit in 2015. Its objective was to demonstrate the viability of low-rate communications with ground terminals and CubeSats.
Serpens consisted of two satellites in one: a Brazilian sector (sector A) and a Spanish one (sector B) sharing the same structure, but completely independent. The Spanish sector was designed, assembled and operated by the engineers that today are part of Alén Space.
